A little bit about Kathryn

Kathryn lived in Oamaru until she was seventeen. She then went up to Wanganui to study art at Wanganui Polytechnic. Kathryn moved back to Oamaru in February 2001.

Kathryn had an exhibition on at the same time as our visit so we decided to take some information from her. Kathryn has sold over one hundred pieces of artwork since 1993, when she started selling art. Her first bit of artwork sold for $50, to a teacher. Kathryn mainly does expressionist art. Some people say she paints abstract but she doesn't. Kathryn always liked art, but she started thinking about selling it at high school. She likes painting landscape art and gets her ideas from the scenery in New Zealand.
