Monitoring

There are lots of ways for monitoring birds, like radios, tags and cameras, even the human eye can monitor.

Radio transmitters: There is a special procedure for them. First a dummy is used to see how the penguins cope with them on their backs. Then they use a real one, it is a small box made from fiber-glass, with an aerial out the top.

Tags: are just small tags made from metal, with engraved numbers, so if you wanted to look up its history you would have to type in the number on the main computer and then all of its life would be there.

Above: These are the managers  of the penguin colony. They are the ones responsible for the monitoring of  the little blue penguins.

Just watching a penguin, you will learn something new. What starts the monitoring  is the human eye, it stores memory.
