Penguin Hospital
THE PENGUIN
HOSPITAL
THE VET
The penguin hospital is a small den of
about twelve square meters, with a
netting fence around just the same as
the fence around the colony. It has
three nesting boxes which each hold
two penguins. Penguins that have
come back from sea with injuries are
immediately examined then put in
the hospital before travelling down to
the vet clinic if necessary for stitches
or any other needs.
The local vet, Mr Laming
plays a very important role
in the penguin hospital and
colony. When there is an
injured penguin he will
stitch the penguin up before
returning it to the penguin
hospital until he is well
enough to return to sea.
