We were
very impressed with the quality of the walkways and the way they
contribute to the wellbeing of the community. We think they are a
wonderful resource for the community.
Our walkways do not interfere with the
natural environment. The walkways go through a variety of ecosystems
including coastal, forest, farm and native bush areas. In some of
these areas, as a result of the work carried out by people, habitats have
been protected from unnatural predators and pollution.
The tracks are really different in
the area they cover. They provide for a range of fitness levels and ages.
Some are quite easy but others are very demanding. They encourage people
to get away from everything, and take a break and enjoy the outdoors. You
can enjoy the tracks on your own or go with a group of friends.
The tracks are well promoted through the
motels and camping grounds as well as at the Information Centre. The
tracks are well maintained. The work people do here which is related to
the tracks helps promote activities for tourists. Tourists spend money in
the town and tourism helps the local economy by providing jobs for people.
The aesthetic value of the tracks is good.
The views are great, and the buildings are impressive. We even developed
two new tracks of our own to include more of the wonderful stone and
glass work and our war memorials.
The tracks help look after the physical,
spiritual, social, mental and environmental wellbeing of the community.
We encourage more people to get out there, be active, socialise, and enjoy
the beauty and peace of God's creation!
