PIVOTS

Crawling Across The Land  Like Silver Daddy-long-legs

Irrigation is more obvious in our district with the growing numbers of pivots being introduced between Omarama and Twizel. There are now 18 pivots.

WHAT IS A PIVOT?

A spray irrigation system that can rotate around a centre pivot. They are considered efficient because they cover a lot of land using less water to the hectare.

The effect of centre pivots - known for forming large green circles.   Omarama Station's pivot.
