Bexley Water

The water within Bexley Wetland consists of both saltwater and fresh water, and a mixture called brackish water.

The saltwater is the tidal water that comes from the Pacific Ocean up the estuary where it meets the freshwater from the Avon River.

There is also a freshwater spring within the wetland.

As a result there is a rich diversity of plants and wildlife that inhabit the area. Some that like salt water, some that like fresh water, and some that
live in brackish water.
