Our Principal's story

First Catholic Family In The Eastern Suburbs – Celeste’s Family

Celeste’s grandma’s family was one of the first Catholic family’s in the Eastern Suburbs. Her grandmother’s name was Mabel Bourke.

Celeste showed us some of the writing that her grandmother did as she still has the original exercise book that she had used. Her grandmother wrote about the pollution in Wellington and her worries about it. She was about 11 years old and this was near 100 years ago. We still worry about pollution today.
