We have chosen Huka Falls because it is one of the beautiful places around the Taupō area.
Huka Falls are a set of waterfalls on the Waikato River. They drain from Lake Taupō in New Zealand.
There is a huge volume of water flowing over the falls, ( 220,000 litres per second).

Huka Falls are the largest falls on the Waikato River. It is the most visited waterfall, and one of the most important and beautiful natural attractions in New Zealand. The falls are part of the Waikato River which is New Zealand longest river.

At Huka Falls the Waikato River that is normally 100m wide is squeezed through 20 metres. The drop of the falls is 11 metres.
