Marcellin College

Tapa , A Tongan Treasure

Research Process

This was a collaborative project. Brother Mark's Intermediate Class in Lapaha went out on location to record the tapa making process in their local area, which is famous for its tapa tradition. Their photos were then sent back to Aucland.

At Marcellin College, Tongan students were invited to record some of their thoughts about, and experiences of, tapa on the computer. We then put both parts of the project together.

Although the two schools are separated geographically, modern technology made it easy for us to collaborate in this way.
