School in the 1950s

School in the 1950s was very hard for the children. School is now a lot different.  If you don't know what school was like in the 1950s, then you should read this report. This report will tell you what it was like, the stationery, the rules and the games they had.

THE TEACHERS
The teachers were very mean.
Now in our days the teachers arent so grumpy. Is guessing you wouldnt want to be there. The teachers could sometimes get very angry, especially if you lived on a farm. This is because you wouldnt be able to wash your hands because you wouldnt have any time. The teachers also had to make sure you had clean hands.

 STATIONERY
In the olden days they had to have different things than we have now.
They had to have H.B. pencils, an ink dryer, a big, big rubber, a bottler, books for each subject, a pencil case and the big people had good ink.

RULES
These rules are not the same as in New Zealand- but there is only one thing thats the same, that is you start school at the age of 5. Another thing is they had to have clean fingers and hands. They did have drinking taps but they weren't allowed to play with them- the drinking taps. You weren't allowed to argue with the teacher.

 GAMES
The games were marbles, cricket, knuckle-bones, netball,  soccer, hide and seek, monopoly, board games, courts and card games.
