Waitaki Valley School

Why Waitaki?

Some graphs about the tourists.

What we found out.

We were happy to discover that nearly all of the visitors were from New Zealand.

Most people had heard about the Valley from friends. Other means were magazines, tourists pamphlets or the internet.

The lakes and dams were what most people intended to see while visiting the Valley. The scenery was another major draw for people.

Most people drove here by car as well as motorbike although there was a bike rally that weekend that would explain the large number of motorbikes.

A large percentage of people had visited before and were returning for a second visit.

Most people wanted the area to stay the same because of the fantastic scenery.

The majority of visitors were holidaying in the valley for one reason or another.

Peace and quiet was a huge factor in drawing visitors to the valley but some were passing through to other holiday destinations.
