Mahana School now
Early days at Mahana School, kindly donated by the Salmond famliy.
Mahana School is a full rural primary school with 3 classes located about 30 km from Nelson.
Our project explores the story of our community and the wider society through an historical time line.We chose this topic because our small community is changing fast and we wanted to promote a sense of belonging and pride in our past and present and optimism for the future.
We wanted to make full use of our developing ICT skills through contributing to our web page with new podcasting skills, and by integrating ICT into our performance background scenes.
As part of our research we used a variety of pictorial/photo resources from books and communities, local museums, archival material and our own families and community.
