Irrigation.

To irrigate: First things first-you need to gather water!

This is a photo of the inside of a bore! You can see water as it is only four metres deep.

We investigated water gathering. Water gathering refers to where and how farmers get their water for irrigation. As there is more than one method of water gathering, we made more than just one page for you to view. The types of water gathering we have covered are these: wells/bores, ponding areas eg. the North Otago Irrigation Company - Black Point Water Scheme, the Archimedes Screw, stratas and water divining.
