Our team

Introducing the classrooms from Tinwald School - 2008

Ponga is a new entrant class.
Rata is a class of new entrant and Year 1 children. We have 5 girls and 15 boys in our class. We enjoy playing games and singing songs. Our teacher is Mrs Middleton. We decided to learn about the Somerset Building.
Kahikatea is a class of 19 children in new entrants and Year 1. We have decided to focus on Tinwald School as a treasure of Ashburton.
Pohutakawa is a class of 21 Year 1, 2 and 3 children. We have decided to focus on Lake Hood as our treasure of Ashburton.
Rimu is a class of 22 Year 1, 2 and 3 children at Tinwald School. We have 15 boys and only 7 girls in our class. We chose the Ashburton Railway Station as our Ashburton Treasure because we all think it is part of Ashburton's heritage.
Kauri have 27 students who are a mix of Year 2 and 3 students. We decided to focus on the Clock Tower as one of Ashburton's Treasures because we think it is a pretty cool treasure to have in our home town.
Kowhai is a Year 3 and 4 class with 25 students. We have looked at a variety of fun activities that can be enjoyed throughout the Mid-Canterbury District.
Totara is a class of fantastic (yeah right!) and talented Year 5 and 6 students. Because of this we have had the freedom to chose our own town treasure to study.
Harakeke is a class of 27 Year 5 and 6 students. We are learning some independent inquiry skills this term. Our class all had a research question about a treasure of Ashburton we were interested in but then we narrowed our work down to 6 main treasures and we all chose to work on one.
Manuka have 26 Year 4 and 5 children. They studied 5 of our local treasures.
